What you need in Gemini CLI

Candor's Gemini extension carries the finance skill and the MCP connection. It works in Gemini CLI, which serves paid Gemini API keys and Code Assist, and in Antigravity CLI, where Google moved free and Google AI Pro and Ultra accounts; Antigravity CLI installs Gemini extensions as plugins. It loads after a restart, and sign-in opens a browser that needs to reach the machine the CLI runs on, which matters over SSH.

Check it worked

Start a new conversation with Gemini CLI, enable Candor if asked, and send this:

Check whether the candor-finance skill and Candor access are ready. Tell me about anything missing. If access works, continue my financial task, or start a first review of my money if I have not named one. Be clear about gaps in the records.

After restarting, ask Gemini CLI to confirm the Candor extension, candor-finance skill, and MCP server are loaded, then ask Gemini CLI to open your Candor workspace. If authentication is incomplete, finish that step before trying a second installation.

What you should see: Gemini CLI names the accounts available in Candor and tells you how recent the information is. If you have not added accounts yet, it should explain how to add them. A missing account or older information does not mean setup failed. Ask Gemini CLI what is missing before installing again.

What to try with Gemini CLI and Candor

Start by looking ahead to bills rather than treating today's balance as spare cash. Gemini CLI can ask for missing income dates, compare confirmed payments with the records in Candor, and explain what still needs checking. For uneven income, give it the expected payment dates as well as the amounts.

What access are you granting?

Gemini CLI can read the financial records you connect or import into Candor, including available balances, transactions, debts, and holdings. It can also maintain notes and approved plans in the workspace.

Candor has no tool to move money, pay a bill, trade, or cancel a service. Your agent uses its own tools and your authorization for external actions. Candor records a reason for each agent operation, and you can revoke the connection from your account controls.

What does Candor add to Gemini CLI?

Gemini CLI reads that list when you ask, or on a schedule if it supports one, and the budgets, goals, and decisions you approve are saved for the next conversation and for any other agent you use.
Does this work in the Gemini web app?
These commands install a Gemini CLI extension on the machine running the CLI. They do not configure the Gemini website or mobile app. Use a supported Candor connector if you want an app-based setup.
What does Candor cost?
Candor starts at $8.25 a month on the annual plan ($99 a year), or $14.99 month to month, and the first 7 days are free. Gemini CLI's own plan and usage charges are separate.
How do I disconnect Gemini CLI?
Revoke the agent's access in your Candor account controls. You can also disconnect a financial institution. Removing a local skill alone does not revoke an existing authorization.

Gemini CLI asks for a server address or connection details

Most apps only need the address. Choose OAuth for authentication and leave Client ID and Client Secret blank; the app registers itself and discovers the rest from the address.

Token authentication is none for this public client. Do not choose OpenID Connect or add openid, email, or profile to the scopes. If an app insists on a Client Secret or a Client ID it cannot create itself, email us. Never enter made-up credentials or paste tokens into chat.

Gemini CLI needs the finance skill file

Most apps install it with the connection. If Gemini CLI asks for the file, download the complete skill and upload it through the app’s skill control, not as a chat attachment. Keep the whole candor-finance folder, including methods and references.

Something still isn’t working
A setting is missing or locked
Check your app's own instructions for which plan, role, and device can add connections. On a work or school account, ask the admin to allow custom connections and skills. If your account cannot, pick another agent or email us.
Sign-in expired, was cancelled, or keeps failing
Open the Candor connection in your app and choose Connect or Sign in again. Use the new link and come back to the same app after approving. If your app runs on another computer, sign in from that computer.
Connected, but the conversation cannot use Candor
Turn Candor on in the conversation's tools menu and start a new conversation. Make sure you connected it in the same account and on the same device you are using now.
The finance skill is missing or still scanning
Find candor-finance in your app's skill list and turn it on. If the app scans skills, wait for the scan to finish before starting a new conversation. If the skill is not there, upload the ZIP from the skill file section where the app manages skills, not as a chat attachment.
