# Connect OpenClaw to your bank account.

Updated 2026-09-27. Canonical page: https://candor.money/connect/openclaw

Give OpenClaw a finance app of its own. Candor keeps a short list of what deserves attention, with the figures behind each item, so OpenClaw can bring it to the chat you already use, and the decisions you approve are saved for next time.

## How it works with your agent

1. Create your Candor account and choose your plan. Connect your financial accounts now or import statements with your agent later.
2. Then send OpenClaw: Set up Candor from https://candor.money/START.md and walk me through connecting it here.
3. OpenClaw handles the setup its tools support and guides you through approving access to your Candor account.
4. Ask OpenClaw to open your workspace and check which accounts and dates are available.

## Let OpenClaw handle setup

Once your Candor account is ready, copy this message into OpenClaw. Your agent will read START.md, choose its setup route, and guide you through any steps you need to complete yourself.

```
## What you need in OpenClaw
OpenClaw adds MCP servers through its native registry with OAuth, which is the better route for a new install; a CLI installation that already works can stay. Its connections are shared by everyone on the same host by default, and its per-requester identity mode gives each person their own sign-in, which a household or team sharing one OpenClaw will want.
## Check the connection before your first review
Ask OpenClaw to confirm the candor-finance skill is loaded, call candor_open through MCP, and report the available accounts. Check the active runtime if login succeeded but the tools are missing. An existing CLI setup can verify with candor open. A missing skill needs skill discovery, not another bank connection.
## What to try with OpenClaw and Candor
Use the messaging channel for a short question, such as whether a bill arrived at a higher amount. OpenClaw can read the history through Candor and keep the explanation in Candor. For recurring cleanup, agree on which cases it can handle quietly and which uncertain categories should come back to you.
## What access are you granting?
OpenClaw can read the financial records you connect or import into Candor, including available balances, transactions, debts, and holdings. It can also maintain notes and approved plans in the workspace.
Candor has no tool to move money, pay a bill, trade, or cancel a service. Your agent uses its own tools and your authorization for external actions. Candor records a reason for each agent operation, and you can revoke the connection from your account controls.
## If OpenClaw gets stuck
Finish setup from your Candor dashboard: sign in, pick OpenClaw, paste the setup message, and approve access. The page shows the moment OpenClaw connects, and it has the connection details ready if OpenClaw asks for them.
Everyone who can use a shared OpenClaw host shares its connections. Connect from a host only you use, or set up per-person isolation first.
Only if the app asks you directly for a server address, connection settings, or the skill file: the values any app can use are in Candor's manual connection details.
Still stuck? Email us at support@candor.money with the app name and where setup stopped; financial details are unnecessary.
## Common questions
### What does Candor add to OpenClaw?
A finance app of its own. Candor reviews your records whenever they change and keeps a short list of what deserves attention, from a price increase to idle cash or an employer match, with the figures behind each item. OpenClaw reads that list when you ask, or on a schedule if it supports one, and the budgets, goals, and decisions you approve are saved for the next conversation and for any other agent you use.
### Why does my skill work locally but not in the agent?
The agent may run on a different host, workspace, state directory, or sandbox. Check that environment's MCP or CLI access and skill visibility. An installation on your laptop does not automatically install the same files on a remote OpenClaw host.
### What does Candor cost?
Candor starts at $8.25 a month on the annual plan ($99 a year), or $14.99 month to month, and the first 7 days are free. OpenClaw's own plan and usage charges are separate.
### How do I disconnect OpenClaw?
Revoke the agent's access in your Candor account controls. You can also disconnect a financial institution. Removing a local skill alone does not revoke an existing authorization.
