# Connect Claude to your bank account.

Give Claude a finance app of its own. Candor reads your accounts as they change and keeps a short list of what deserves attention, so Claude starts with the right question, and the budgets and reasons you approve are there for every later conversation.

## How it works with your agent

1. Create your Candor account and choose your plan. Connect your financial accounts now or import statements with your agent later.
2. Then send Claude: Set up Candor from https://candor.money/START.md and walk me through connecting it here.
3. Claude handles the setup its tools support and guides you through approving access to your Candor account.
4. Ask Claude to open your workspace and check which accounts and dates are available.

## What you need in Claude

Every Claude plan, including Free, can add Candor Finance from Claude's connector directory, with a custom connector as the fallback. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner may need to enable it for the organization first, then each member connects their own account. The connection runs from Anthropic's servers, so once it is added at claude.ai it works in Claude Desktop and the phone app too.

## Check the connection before your first review

Start a fresh conversation with Candor enabled. Ask Claude to confirm the candor-finance skill is loaded, then open your Candor workspace and name the accounts and date range it can actually read. A missing account or short history needs a coverage check, not another plugin install.

## What to try with Claude and Candor

Start with a spending question you can check. A budget review lets you compare Claude's proposed categories with your actual transactions before approving any amounts. If a bill looks wrong, narrow the next conversation to that charge.

## What access are you granting?

Claude can read the financial records you connect or import into Candor, including available balances, transactions, debts, and holdings. It can also maintain notes and approved plans in the workspace.

Candor has no tool to move money, pay a bill, trade, or cancel a service. Your agent uses its own tools and your authorization for external actions. Candor records a reason for each agent operation, and you can revoke the connection from your account controls.

## If Claude gets stuck

Finish setup from your Candor dashboard: sign in, pick Claude, paste the setup message, and approve access. The page shows the moment Claude connects, and it has the connection details ready if Claude asks for them.

Claude's connector directory is on every plan, including Free, and its connectors do not use Free's one custom connection. Add Candor Finance at claude.ai in a browser or in Claude Desktop; the phone app then uses it. On Team or Enterprise, an owner may need to enable it first.

Only if the app asks you directly for a server address, connection settings, or the skill file: the values any app can use are in Candor's manual connection details.

### What does Candor add to Claude?

A finance app of its own. Candor reviews your records whenever they change and keeps a short list of what deserves attention, from a price increase to idle cash or an employer match, with the figures behind each item. Claude reads that list when you ask, or on a schedule if it supports one, and the budgets, goals, and decisions you approve are saved for the next conversation and for any other agent you use.

### Will the connection work on my phone?

Configure the remote connector on Claude web or Desktop first. Its use in other Claude surfaces depends on the account's support and enabled tools. Confirm Candor is available in the conversation before relying on it; a desktop-only plugin component does not become mobile-compatible just because it is installed.

### Does Claude already connect to my bank account?

Not on its own as of September 2026. Claude reaches financial records through connectors, and every Claude plan can add Candor Finance from its connector directory (on Team and Enterprise, an Owner may need to enable it first). A Money tab that links bank accounts was found in testing in the Claude app, but Anthropic has not announced it. Either way, Candor adds the short list of what deserves attention and the saved plans, in Claude and your other agents.

### Is Claude Code the same setup?

Claude Code has its own plugin commands and session setup. Use its dedicated guide if you work in the terminal. This page covers the Claude apps.

### What does Candor cost?

Candor starts at $8.25 a month on the annual plan ($99 a year), or $14.99 month to month, and the first 7 days are free. Claude's own plan and usage charges are separate.

### How do I disconnect Claude?

Revoke the agent's access in your Candor account controls. You can also disconnect a financial institution. Removing a local skill alone does not revoke an existing authorization.
