Create your Candor account and choose your plan. Connect your financial accounts now or import statements with your agent later. 2. Then send Claude Code: Set up Candor from https://candor.money/START.md and walk me through connecting it here. 3. Claude Code handles the setup its tools support and guides you through approving access to your Candor account. 4. Ask Claude Code to open your workspace and check which accounts and dates are available. ## Let Claude Code handle setup Once your Candor account is ready, copy this message into Claude Code. Your agent will read START.md, choose its setup route, and guide you through any steps you need to complete yourself. ```text Set up Candor from https://candor.money/START.md and walk me through connecting it here. ``` ## What you need in Claude Code Claude Code installs Candor as a plugin from Candor's marketplace, which brings the finance skill and the MCP connection together, and you approve access once in a browser. A new plugin is usually active right away; after an update, /reload-plugins or a new session picks it up. ## Check the connection before your first review In the new session, ask Claude Code to open Candor. It should have both the candor-finance skill and candor_open tool. If the plugin was just updated, verify in a fresh session before trying a manual setup. ## What to try with Claude Code and Candor A useful first job is transaction cleanup: apply your existing categories, collect ambiguous merchants for you to clarify, and propose rules for your review. Claude Code can read the financial records you connect or import into Candor, including available balances, transactions, debts, and holdings. It can also maintain notes and approved plans in the workspace. Candor has no tool to move money, pay a bill, trade, or cancel a service. Your agent uses its own tools and your authorization for external actions. A finance app of its own. Candor reviews your records whenever they change and keeps a short list of what deserves attention, from a price increase to idle cash or an employer match, with the figures behind each item. Claude Code reads that list when you ask, or on a schedule if it supports one, and the budgets, goals, and decisions you approve are saved for the next conversation and for any other agent you use. ### Should I add a second MCP server manually? The plugin already carries Candor's MCP configuration. Check /mcp in a fresh session first. Use the manual fallback in the setup guide only if the plugin route cannot load; two active copies make troubleshooting harder. ### What does Candor cost? Candor starts at $8.25 a month on the annual plan ($99 a year), or $14.99 month to month, and the first 7 days are free. Claude Code's own plan and usage charges are separate. ### How do I disconnect Claude Code? Revoke the agent's access in your Candor account controls. You can also disconnect a financial institution.
